CRYPTO markets gave back much of their recent gains overnight, as risk sentiment turned south following another volatile session on Wall Street.
The retreat follows a short-lived rally sparked by President Trumpโs announcement of a 90-day pause on newly introduced tariffs, an event that briefly lifted both equities and digital assets.
The S&P 500 slid more than 3% on Thursday, continuing its choppy path despite fresh data showing a decline in US consumer price inflation reading for the first time in nearly five years. The weak CPI print, which might normally buoy markets, failed to offset investor concerns over geopolitics and persistent macro uncertainty.
Bitcoin (BTC) dipped 1.66% but is still holding above the psychologically important $80,000 level. Ethereum (ETH) fell further, down nearly 4% at the time of writing.
While most major tokens are in retreat, a handful of altcoins continue to defy the trend. RENDER posted gains of more than 10%, while Berachain (BERA) rose over 3%, extending its momentum from yesterday.
Volatility remains the defining feature. US Treasuries, typically viewed as a safe haven, have also seen erratic price swings this week, further underscoring investor uncertainty as markets weigh the implications of trade policy, inflation data, and the prospect of central bank action.ย
